The epicness....
Anyway I LOVED this song. The only thing that got me was the repeating background, but it emphasized on the song so I cant decide if it was negative or positive. The breakdown.......that breakdown.........was fucking awesome. Sorry, but thats coming from the heart, so it slipped. The instruments blended into that type of bittersweet coffee that tastes just right. The kick was that extra umph in that coffee. The breakdown was the sexy waitress that served you the coffee. It was just awesome. I know I should review this professionally so scorechart.

Melody-8/10

Breakdown-10/10
Kick-10/10
Effects-9/10

Again Im sorry for the non-professionalism, but I just.......never have gotten into a song like I have with this one. I just....yeah.

:D w00t, screw professionalism! :D Makes me happy to see how much you digged the tune, dude. :) Took me a while to transition between the two parts as the breakdown is kinda off-key but a simple little pitch-bend on the last chord is what did the trick. :d Thanks for the love, Darkfire! :D

Long time no review eh?
Ok, since its late Im giving a scorechart.

Instruments-10/10
Melody-9/10
Pad-9/10
Percussion- 8/10
Average- 9/10

Pros- I loved the idea of the song. Perfect flow on the instruments. Switching the percussion up a bit really emphasized on the uniqueness of the instrument

Cons- Percussion overpowered the entirety of the song. It felt as though i was more focused on the percussion than the song itself. My idea would be to lower the volume on the kick, and switch the snare out for something thats more filtered.

Caine1989 responds:

Okay thank you for your detailed review, always much appreciated! I will try to change the percussions a bit! :)

I must have FLP.
Anyway cowbell at the intro stood out too much. Slight reverb on the entire track, especially the bass, would improve it. Lead came in a little too late. I noticed you used chords that flow together differently. As odd as it sounds it flows. Especially In your other song True nature. I really like that part of your style, so try to emphasize on that. Dont force it though; let it come naturally.

ZachPayne responds:

Thanks :) and yeah I love odd progressions lol

Genre

Progressive Payned Trance.
Jk jk. Its progressive epic trance. I....cant really review this one until you make a decision on which genre it belongs to so for now....good job!

ZachPayne responds:

xD Hell yea, Payne Trance!!! lmao
Well I'm just gonna go with progressive for sure lol :)
The other tags are subjective.

Pretty good

My first song was.....yea. The piano was beautiful. Adding a filter automation clip always improves a song, and you will need them later on too. Try layering the piano with effects, as well as the kick and clap. This is a really good piece, and I hope to see greater things from you on newgrounds.

P.S. Dont rush to get a song out too.

JonnyYang responds:

Thank you! I'll work hard to improve :D

Hey its me Darkipod96!

Anyway the kick seems to be just a bit flat. Try to add more bass behind it. Maximus should do it :D
Your buildups are amazing as always, but they take a little too much time. Try shortening them by 20 seconds and adding an outro if needed. The melody was amazing, but the synth didn't make it show its optimal performance. LAYER IT WITH EFFECTS! Nothing beats effects. Chord progression was awesome, and Im really trying to figure out what it is. Could you send me the saved melody file? Could really use it. Bass was an interesting choice, and it complements the song well, but it needs more bass. Right now it feels as though its just a sound in the background. I feel as though the lead could use a slight delay as well. 10/10 as everything listed above is an opinion.

Love it!

The melody was superb, as always. The Chord progression was an excellent choice. I was really surprised by the first synth. What was it? To get that effect on the snare you had to use a phaser right? The second synth that came in was z3ta+ right? I personally think that the second synth should've been a saw type, but to each their own right? I find this song to my liking so 9/10!

/-DJ Chaos-\

AikaMusic responds:

No z3ta :P and phaser with parametric eq and volume changes. :P

And here I am again.

I remember reviewing this a while ago. I really like this version. I think the arp could have more reverb. Melody was perfect, and I remember saying that we both share the Signature Synth, Elepiano. Well I stopped using it so Im not as used to the sound. But it really was good. The only thing I say to add Is a good pad.

/-DJ Chaos-\

DISTRIX responds:

The pad that I made is fine because it doesn't stand out too much and adds the right amount of atmosphere. I didn't spend much time reworking this though, so it could be better. However, I like it as is :3

And, yes, I've been a fan of that Elepiano sound since a year ago when I started electronic music lol.

Thanks for reviewing again, DJ Chaos.

No one puts good melodies in DNB?

Check out my new song flow. Its a good song. ANYWAY I really liked the percussion, but somehow it didn't click with the rest of the song. Also for a song like this i really think a saw type synth, with good reverb would go well with this. Try Z3ta+ or Toxic Biohazard. I think your using a sine-square type. From the sound its 3xosc right? I personally think a more stable percussion, as well as some odd variations, would be perfect. Your kick really threw me off. Try getting another sample as it didn't click with the song. Bassline is good, but it had too much of an.........8 bit feel I guess. So amp the power up! XD.

Its nice to know your back, sempai. I was wondering when your next song was gonna come out. Come back to us sooner, will ya? Alot of us really missed you.

IceMasterDlux responds:

Thanks for reviewing! I appreciate your comments, and I probably will boost up the bass, this was pretty quick because I really wanted to get back. Anyhow thanks a lot, man, I appreciate your support a lot! God bless you!
